Curaçao welcomes foreign entrepreneurs and provides attractive fiscal incentives.
The fact that Curaçao is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands creates additional opportunities.

Starting up a business in Curaçao

In general, starting up a business on Curacao is relatively easy. The first step is having a notary office establish a legal form.

This requires a number of licenses, the most important being:

  1. The business license from the Island Executive Council, permitting the corporation to operate in Curacao
  2. A director’s license for a non-Antillean managing director
  3.  A work and residence permit for the managing director.

This table provides an overview of compulsory registrations. For an overview of all permits, download the full 2007 investor’s guide (PDF).
