State Secretary Ank Bijleveld-Schouten (Kingdom Relations, CDA) will be in the Netherlands Antilles for a working visit next week. The theme of the working visit will be the progress of the political changes in the Kingdom. The State Secretary will hold political consultations with the land the Netherlands Antilles, Curaçao and St. Maarten on Wednesday.
It is expected that a date will be set whereupon Curaçao and St. Maarten will definitely obtain their status of self-governance within the Kingdom. The working visit of the State Secretary will start on Monday, September 28th, with a conversation with the Governor of the Netherlands Antilles, Frits Goedgedrag.
She will further consult with Minister-President Emily de Jongh-Elhage, and has an acquaintance conversation with the new Minister of Justice, Magali Jacoba (PAR).
During the afternoon, she will be on Bonaire to speak with the new governors of Bonaire. On Tuesday, Bijleveld will attend the seminar on ‘Project in progress’ of the Institute Development Netherlands Antilles. Furthermore, she will consult with Saba and St. Eustatius on that same day.
On Thursday, a consultation is scheduled with the Board of Governors of Curaçao, and the State Secretary will then attend the Police Kingdom Games on Bonaire. She will also visit the Regional Service Center, the office of the Dutch government for Bonaire, Saba, and St. Eustatius. The State Secretary will conclude her visit to the Antilles on Friday.
